
George E. Clark is a writer, sometime actor, and librarian.
George was one of the winners of the 2012 Concord Poetry Center / Fruitlands Museum Plein Air Poetry juried poetry competition. In prose, he has written for publications such as Environment and The Resource, Harvard University’s internal HR newsletter. He has also published book reviews and academic articles. He has appeared as an extra in the TV shows The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Defending Jacob, and Early Edition. He worked as an extra in the forthcoming movie Boston Strangler. He has a master's degree in drama from Harvard Extension.
During the work day, George is a librarian at Harvard University. He works in cluster of libraries that includes Lamont Library, Cabot Science Library, Widener Library, and the Harvard Map Collection. He helps people with questions related to the environment, sustainability, government publications, maps, and general research.
He likes both dogs and cats, mountains and the ocean, and crunchy and puffy Cheetos. Apparently, he is easy to please.
George grew up in northern Virginia, and his family hails from that state’s Shenandoah Valley. He studied at Earlham College in Richmond, Indiana and has advanced degrees from Harvard University Extension, Simmons College (Boston, MA), Clark University (Worcester, MA), and the University of Chicago. He lives with his family where the suburbs meet the country west of Boston.
